No, it doesn't preclude that.  The routine I wrote was mostly an exercise to
learn how to use oleobj to interface with WMI.
 
My results do seem to call oleobj into question though.

Maybe there's a problem in OLEObj (or the system calls it uses).  It's not
something I've used.
