Hi Mark,

SourceForge is what is hosting the ooRexx. project. It is the only place that I
personally can make sure things are up to date. The latest official releases
are only available from SourceForge.

Sourceforge is not really not usable for most 'average' users. There's little
point in putting software there if you want it to be widely accessible.

I concede that some of the things SourceForge offers are confusing to average
users. But, I don't think downloading files is.

(I disagree .. but that's not the isssue.)

This page: http://www.oorexx.org/download.html

just contains links that point to the software on SourceForge. If the software
was not put on SourceForge, the links would be worthless.

OK, but who cares which server serves the files linked from that page, so long
as they are 'safe'?

Keeping that page up-to-date, is the responsibility of ?? I don't know who, but
some one who is not real interested in ooRexx. Or, who was interested but has
lost interest or no longer has the time.

That is the ooRexx 'downloads' page. Like you, I do not know who maintains it.
Regardless of that, it is the page that google puts first -- which implies that
it is the most-linked-to, and so on. Unilaterally declaring that somewhere
else is the place to download is not helpful.

When people ask me which Rexx to use I have difficulty. Regina? BRexx? Android
Rexx? ooRexx? ... I really do try to be impartial, but it would really help if
you guys all got your act together and had just one 'story'.

Mike
