Well... after many travails, I've finally got gtk4 installed.  However running any of the examples results in:

unable to load library rexx_gtk4

even tho' librexx_gtk4.so has been built and is in the current directory and current dir is in PATH

any ideas?

    Hi Ruud,

I've installed Mint 22.3.  How did you install gtk 4.12? The
'software manager' lists a huge number of entries when queried
for 'gtk4.  Did you find a binary package? or did you build it
    from source?

I've added a CSS_light style and a toggle switch to switch

The styles are defined vi ::resource directives

    It's on https://www.idenburg.net/ooRexx/wip
