Hi everyone,

I have tried to keep my pride from getting the better of me but I am
slightly offended. I didn't spend hours trying to think up a name. I
just couldn't stand the idea of another animal reference item.
Since I am not big on programming I had never heard of OORE or the
fact that they call it ogre. But an Open GRaphics card called Ogre is
completely serious. We can ask if they will let us get away with the
Ogre card. And a name IS important. The card has to be an item
people will want to buy. If it isn't then this whole project will be
short lived.
The Kool Aid man said "Let's get serious. Seriously whacky." And I
think it is entirely appropriate to wrack our brains for something
that is catchy but obviously not lame-sounding. And, "no disrespect
intended" but, to me "opentech3d" lacks imagination and while this is
definitely a geek item "FPGA" is just too geek. That type of a name
would be confused with FCPGA and simply glossed over by the
semi-intrepid PC user. You want a name that works. I believe that
means it should, again, be catchy, easily associated with the product
(lasting impression), strong and maybe descriptive.

So, I too, sincerely mean no disrespect but lets us leave the comments
out of this until we have a few more names.
I believe we can start with this list.

Ogre Card (or any variation like O-Gre [let's just ask ogre3d.org if
they'd really have a problem with it first])
Opentech3D
FPGA
