On my AthlonMP 2800+ (2.13GHz/512K L2) and a 512x384 XViD file (no scaling): With hardware accelerated YUV->RGB (Xv, radeon 9100): ~2.5% CPU time (bounced from 1% to 3%, most of the numbers were clustered around 2.5) Without (DGA2): ~18% CPU Time (17->20%, most clustered round 18 +/- 0.2%) 18% of one of my AthlonMPs is more processor power than my 500Mhz k6-2 has, so I'd have to keep using a Radeon in it to make it able to play DVDs (anything more complex than MPEG2 is a lost cause above QCIF on it). -- http://unknownlamer.org AIM:unknownlamer IRC:[EMAIL PROTECTED] I use Free Software because I value freedom over features. 443E 4F1A E213 7C54 A306 E328 7601 A1F0 F403 574B
