Uhmm.. i don't know whether i understood you.

The problem is, that, if you use line mode, that
you can not stop in the middle of a line but have to copy
the whole line. Thus, you have to arange your lines in a
way that the lines either never cross a page boundary
or that the pages are physicaly continous.
