Hello, I just spotted two news recently, that are from graphics hardware area:
1) California Micro Devices Announces First VGA and DVI-I Port 2) Industry group promotes UDI as successor of VGA graphical interface Ad 1) Cut & paste from: http://www.digit-life.com/news.html?05/26/77#52677 California Micro Devices announced the CM2006, a highly integrated Application Specific Integrated Passive (ASIP) device that provides the first complete interface solution for VGA and DVI-I ports for digital consumer electronics and PC peripheral applications such as digital TVs and LCD monitors. By replacing 22 analog and passive components with a single, compact device, the CM2006 offers designers a simple, reliable, space saving and cost effective alternative to discrete implementations. The device provides space savings up to 55 percent and solution cost savings of 33 percent while improving ESD performance. Ad 2) Cut & paste from: http://www.tgdaily.com/2005/12/20/udisig_formation/ San Francisco (CA) - 11 companies, including heavy weights Apple, Intel, LG, Samsung and Nvidia announced the formation of the UDI Special Interest Group (UDI SIG), which aims to establish the Unified Display Interface (UDI) as high definition graphical interface to replace the aging VGA standard. UDI will deliver a bandwidth of 16 Gb/s in its first generation. This are just for future considerations. Or simply just FYI :) Regards Rudolf _______________________________________________ Open-graphics mailing list [email protected] http://lists.duskglow.com/mailman/listinfo/open-graphics List service provided by Duskglow Consulting, LLC (www.duskglow.com)
