Hm. I was looking for FPGA dev boards with graphics output quite a while
ago for an internal project, and this was the best I found:

The prices ranges from $400 to $600, depending on the size of Spartan-3
you get. It also has a bunch of other neat stuff, like serial ports and
an Ethernet port.

I don't think the stuff you are looking at is all that representative of
what you can get if you look hard enough.
