Is this the TV style "lines" which really means "line pairs", thus 2000 pixels?
Even HiDef only goes up to 1920, and displays that actually have 1920 pixels
are rare and expensive, even today.

1000 lines meaning 500 line pairs would be significantly more believable,
and would match ED Beta, which was speced at 500.

I think that Sony was just expressing the bandwidth of the video amps in terms of lines on the screen. But, I do have to say that my Fathers 27 incher had a _really_ sharp picture.
