We already have an open platform in the ATI R200. They cost $20 to
buy.

That would be used? or OEM?

I have one -- a Radeon 9200 card.

Be careful not to position the OGC as competition to that card.
Right now the ATI R200 has almost an identical feature set to what you
are building.

You are correct that this is similar. But, I suggest otherwise. We should target this card as a benchmark. If we can offer a card that equals the performance of the Radeon 9200 AGP (with the XF86 r200 driver) for $100 we will have a good product. If we can sell it cheaper, we will have a better product.

Remember that there are a finite number of used ones available. That this card will never support PCIe or HTX MotherBoards. That it will probably be discontinued sooner or later. And that its current popularity is due mostly to the fact that there is an Open Source XF86 driver for it.
