        Seems to work OK with up-to-date Firefox, lynx, and links.  FF still
shows the pale blue and pink rectangles superimposed on the board image; so
do all the other graphic browsers I tried. 
        Netscape 4.77 acts about the same, but has trouble jumping back
after clicking on "Home".  The artwork on the page initially downloaded
didn't display, but did on all the clicked "home" pages.  Might have just
not waited long enough; this is running on a Pentium 1 with 32MB RAM.
        Mozilla 1.0.0 works OK.  Opera 6.0 OK.  Galeon  OK.
        I'll let you know about Safari later.
