With the efforts of Timothy Howard and Andy we have some beautiful pictures to show off. I could do with some eyes over the announcement. Here is what we have so far.. release msg: ------------------------- The Open Graphics Organization has released the first photographs of the prototype of their open graphics card development board ODG1. After completion of testing, this development card will be used by the Open Graphics Project to develop drivers and hardware code for an open graphics card. Those who purchase this powerful PCI based FPGA development platform are expected to be provided with significant reference code (GPL) for onboard hardware such as the memory controller and PCI. It is planned that cards purchased from Traversal will include a license to use this code in their own designs with this card.
The Open Graphics Project has released the first photographs of the prototype of their open graphics development board, OGD1. After completion of testing, this development platform will be used by the Open Graphics Project to develop a variety of open architecture hardware products, particularly a new graphics processor. The Open Graphics Project hopes that their efforts will be an asset to the Free Software community. Those who purchase this powerful FPGA-based development platform are expected to be provided with a library of reference logic for use in their designs, including controllers for memory, PCI, video, and SPI PROMs. Source code to the reference logic is available under a variety of licenses, including the GNU General Public License.
-------------- thoughts? ps timothy: what happens with the license and pci SIG ID?
Which license are you referring to? Also, we will have the PCI SIG membership within plenty of time of selling boards. -- Timothy Miller http://www.cse.ohio-state.edu/~millerti _______________________________________________ Open-graphics mailing list [email protected] http://lists.duskglow.com/mailman/listinfo/open-graphics List service provided by Duskglow Consulting, LLC (www.duskglow.com)
