This is not going to make consumers happy if it is true.

However, SiliconImage makes HDMI transmitters that have HDCP built in,
so if we need this, it is simple.

Yeah.  Most likely, that's exactly the device we'll have to use.  It
would be especially good if they can operate in an unencrypted mode
and also do dual-link so that we can use them as the main DVI
transmitters.  (I have the impression that HDMI is basically DVI with
some minor variations.)  On the other hand, if they're too expensive,
we'll just put one of them on some card.
