It occurs to me that assembled computers get shipped all the time
and most of them survive, so the heatsink mounting must be strong
enough to survive the nasty drops they get at the sorting centers.

Dell ships a lot of computers, so their shipping boxes probably work.
Extra foam or bubble wrap shouldn't hurt, and might help, especially
if the case is smaller than the shipping box was designed for.
