Hello,
Maybe you can try with some motherboard supported on http://coreboot.org. Its an
opensource BIOS with serial console output for debug ;) You can play with that,
because you can change whatever you need.
If you want to test your VGA BIOS, I think best would be to add the SeaBIOS as
payload of Coreboot, which provides legacy BIOS on the top.
