Guys... sorry to keep bearing bad news, but we seem to just be shifting this
stuff around constantly.. Now the clone() call takes up the time as you can see
in profile_clonepatch.
John suggested that I take out the finalizer as was suggested early and give it
a shot. I like that idea and I'll update after I try it.
