Not a clue then... Didn't realize the darwin build was different. Ahh.. Looks like there is something in src/packages/MacOS called buildpkg... Maybe that is what builds the setup you are looking for? > > Can you be more specific about your fileserver problems? are you > > referring to "fileserver" or the fs combination of fileserver + > > volserver? > > When I try to replicate the root.afs and root.cell, it fails when I try > to release and fails during salvaging. I'm now at the point where /afs doesn't even respond. Ok. That would be a volserver issue (unless it's a problem with the fssync interface, not sure). > Here are some errors from SalvageLog: > > @(#) OpenAFS 1.2.8 built 2003-01-17 > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 STARTING AFS SALVAGER 2.4 (/usr/afs/bin/salvager -f > /vicepa) > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 SALVAGING FILE SYSTEM PARTITION /vicepa > (device=vicepa) > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 ***Forced salvage of all volumes on this > partition*** > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 Found 0 link count file > /vicepa/AFSIDat/7/7+++U/+/+/5. > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 Found 0 link count file > /vicepa/AFSIDat/7/7+++U/+/+/=+++2. > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 Found 0 link count file > /vicepa/AFSIDat/A/A+++U/+/+/=+++2. > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 SALVAGING VOLUME 536870921. > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 root.afs (536870921) updated 01/17/2003 17:34 > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 iinc failed. inode 13 errno 9 > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 iinc failed. inode 14 errno 9 > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 Found 2 orphaned files and directories (approx. 2 > KB) > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 Salvaged root.afs (536870921): 2 files, 2 blocks > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 SALVAGING VOLUME 536870924. > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 root.cell (536870924) updated 01/18/2003 16:47 > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 iinc failed. inode 3 errno 9 > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 iinc failed. inode 67108870 errno 9 > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 Salvaged root.cell (536870924): 0 files, 0 blocks > 01/18/2003 17:28:46 SALVAGING OF PARTITION /vicepa COMPLETED > > There are also repeats of the following line in BosLog: > > Sun Jan 19 04:00:12 2003: upserver exited with code 255 > > > You can send certain signals to the file and vol servers to bump up the > > debug level quite a bit.
