Ok, then what happens when you use root and the password for accessing the MySQL server in the OpenBD admin section?

Yes, I'd like to do this ... but I don't know the procedure. I'd prefer
to get port 3306 open so I can push out some website changes that are
overdue. Once that's done, I'll try to create another user.
