Crude, but that would have multiple instances of JAVA running.

So this will work:

> c:/jetty-openbd/webapps/openbd/
> c:/jetty-openbd2/webapps/openbd/
> c:/jetty-openbd3/webapps/openbd/

HOWEVER, J2EE has already thought of that, and that's why we package it
as a standard WAR file to allow you to take the benefits of years and
years of experience from the J2EE world.

instead you could do:

   > c:/jetty-openbd/webapps/myapp1/
   > c:/jetty-openbd/webapps/myapp2/
   > c:/jetty-openbd/webapps/myapp3/

And create in the context folder, the different

   > c:/jetty-openbd/contexts/myapp1.xml
   > c:/jetty-openbd/contexts/myapp2.xml
   > c:/jetty-openbd/contexts/myapp3.xml

Now this is how you would run and setup multiple WAR files.

Remember, each WAR file is a self-contained application, that contains
both the OpenBD runtime *and* your CFML logic. This is the most secure
and flexible way of deploying applications in the J2EE world.

The historical R2R instance was a hacked version of that and didn't
really operate the way J2EE world needed to be. So you actually lost a
lost of flexibility that way.

NOW you do realize, you can still use the 1.0 R2R setup if you really
wanted, and just drop the JAR files into that infrastructure. Nothing
stopping you from that at all.

I think you got yourself tied up in knots, and while I understand all
the rants regarding the lack of documentation, a clear and level head
will get you through the majority of situations.

I won't apologise for the lack of documentation, because this is open
source, and it evolves as and when it needs it.

If you want a fully supported and documented product then I advise
buying a commercial license and you'll get a whole suite of people that
will jump through all the hoops you need. You can even buy support for
OpenBD if you want. Talk to me off list if you want.

So, deep breaths, realise that open source is a completely different
animal, and help us help you.

:)
