Jordan, I received an email from Bruno, my tech guy at the isp, saying your instructions was very easy to follow.
It took just a few minutes to create a datasource for one of my wordpress databases. Through trial and error I discovered the username/password is the same as my cpanel login info. I first tried my whm login, which did not work.
Writing code in cf is a whole lot more fun than php. I am a very happy camper. Thanks to everyone who made OpenBD possible.

Jordan,
I just copied most of your two emails and forwarded them to my contact at my isp. I will let you know the outcome.
Thanks,

You'll want to use the port reference anyway, because it will no longer
work with your domain as soon as you modify your server.xml file. The
fact that it works without specifying a port indicates that CFM files
are resolving to tomcat's ROOT webapp.
