I'm willing to assist any ongoing effort -- or initiate a brand-new
effort -- to give the OpenBD CFMAIL tag the gift of support for
secured SMTP connections.
All my attempts to find any existing efforts in that regard have
failed, but I'm hoping there is indeed an existing effort that just
isn't showing up in the bulletin boards.
The effort would involve both adding the support and parameters to the
CFMAIL tag... and adding the needed extra parameters to the mail-
server-registration page of the OpenBD adminstration GUI.
Should we focus on SSL (port 465) only? Or should we also support TLS/
STARTTLS (port 587)? I'm open to suggestions on this question as
well.
