I've only just discovered OpenBD GAE, so forgive me if this is already being discussed, but I would think the Holy Grail of features would be the ability for an app to take a user's Google credentials and upload a new instance itself (the app) directly ( http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/java/tools/uploadinganapp.html) without requiring use of the Eclipse plug-in.
The intersection of the accessibility of CFML, Open Source code, a free engine and free hosting, and now single-click deploy-(or update)-me-my-own-copy-of-this-app functionality would surely put CFML back on everyone's radar.
