In my experience working with php people they love cfml. They love not having to worry about database connections. They love not having cross-platform deployment problems. Connection pooling is a foreign concept to php unless you use one of the frameworks and that's a huge hack.
They love the application scope, the session scopes and all other goodies like that. I still don't understand why php is so popular. I can only assume it was first to the line with a truly free offering So, show your php people they can be way more productive with so much less hassle and they will thank you. -- http://alan.blog-city.com/ -----Original Message----- From: roii <[email protected]> Sender: [email protected] Date: Sun, 3 Apr 2011 00:17:20 To: Open BlueDragon<[email protected]> Reply-To: [email protected] Subject: [OpenBD] do php developers pick up on openbd easily I will be looking to attract a community of developers to work on a "teen entrepreneurship/innovation" project (my3P.com). I have access to both php and coldfusion communities. Question: would php developers pick up on openbd reasonable quick or would i be best to focus on getting coldfusion people? thanks, roii :) -- official tag/function reference: http://openbd.org/manual/ mailing list - http://groups.google.com/group/openbd?hl=en -- official tag/function reference: http://openbd.org/manual/ mailing list - http://groups.google.com/group/openbd?hl=en
