Subject: [OpenBD] Re: What is the goal of OpenBD long term

Hey Travis, let me answer some of these for you.

The Desktop version is getting a overhaul (which i am nearly
finished). There is a Windows installer coming for those that want a
more traditional Tomcat/IIS type of configuration. Alex demonstrated
how easy this was in OpenCFSummit, so maybe we should do a video. Good
idea.

As for the long term goal of OpenBD, that is a very simple question to
answer: to service the needs of our community and provide the features
they want. We follow no one but you.

Our business model is not like the other engines, we don't need to
follow anyone to keep our $$$ coming in, we follow what the community
ask for. We don't need to make money from OpenBD; we all have our day
jobs that keeps food on the table, so to that end, we make decisions
based on what we hear from you, not what effects our turnover (as OpenBD
has no turnover, as it is not a company/business).

That is why everything we do in OpenBD is open sourced under GPL.
Nothing is held back.
