why is this community so hell bent in re-inventing the wheel (literally
in this case!) I sometimes get the feeling people are just showing off

Stop showing off and lets get more end-user apps. CFML is already a
great language. It already has the potential to run fast and make you
productive. You don't need to prove anything.
