This is a little bit tricky. It looks like the module runs the code twice. If you look with tail -f on stderr.log then you will see that the first call succeeds and the second one fails.
If you know a better way of searching please describe it. Actually the AUTOSTART stuff looks like the biggest problem.
I mapped some function statically and this removes the number of leaking variables in create_pin to 5. This stuff is commited. I think I can find perhaps two of these variables and then I have to look for new methods.
It would be really interesting for me to know how fast create_pin is. Could you run the batchprocessor only with one step for each function and then check the speed for the single funtions? This would allow us to find the functions which consume the most time and perhaps the most memory if you can observe this too.
