Usually the most used clients are the browsers (Netscape/IE/Opera/Mozilla).
This enables users with SSL client side authentication. On Netscape you
have a javascript function allowing for signing data (PKCS#7) format that
could be useful when you need the clients to sign some docs/forms/etc...

There is support for signature generation on IE too, I guess, with the
new COM object from Microsoft (there have been discussion on this on the
devel mailing list some time ago).

I don't know about Mozilla/Opera.
