hello

i've no clue :) if you see the "about" menu in ie - it states 40bit cipher strength.
actually the limiting key size to 512b helped - ie4 accepts that length
(certHelper.GenKeyFlags = 33554435) and generates the keys.

Hi,

actually I'm a little bit confused because the problems are from
symmetric ciphers which are only used to encrypt the private keys. The
symmetric ciphers has normally nothing to do with the keygeneration of
RSA. So it looks like a problem with some exportversions.

My question is where do you configure the usage of a 40-Bit Cipher in
IE? A 40 Bit-Cipher is perhaps a problem for Microsoft's Security Level.
The most systems using medium security. Does this level accept ciphers
lower then 56-Bit?

Best regards,

Michael
