Where and when do you have this error. If OpenCA creates a serial in this file with more than one leading zero then this is a bug which must be fixed. I fixed some issues with serials during recovery in the past. BTW we have to move the recovery stuff to the OpenSSL module because it depends on the crypto toolkit which must be encapsulated.
