Thanks very much. I did run "Delete Temp Files" but it did not solve the problem. However, it also did not clear the directory - lots and lots of files still left.
I am tempted to clear them by hand after taking a backup as you suggest but I am concerned that, if the cert is successfully issued in the database but some of those files in the tmp directory are supposed to be synchronized with the database (I have no idea if this is the case), I will now be out of synch and at risk of mangling all my existing certs and killing my PKI even if I restore the previous tmp files? Is there a danger of this or can I safely delete them?
