Just a clarification that I forgot to add a [RFC] to the subject of this patch series. I'm not sure if they are ready for upstream merge and I'd like to touch a few more points (read: CFLAGS and LDFLAGS in each Makefile.am) before this is merged. I know this patch is proposing a lot of changes, so maybe we should discuss if this is worth branching the tree and merging into a "-next" branch.
