understood, but same gcc 2.95.2 compiled with motif 1.2.x does not
show the ugs I experience with motif 2.1.21.

Also on Windows I expewrimented with motif 1.2.4 and 2.1.21 with GCC
2.95.2 and Microsoft C 6.0.  The DX executables, produced by either
compiler, linked aginst 2.1.2 motif libs seems to be very bugy, at
least in my hands.  Therefore I doubt there may be some problems in
DX code
which are not compatible with MOTIF 2.1.21
