Hello,

I've downloaded the recent 4.0.10 RPM files for linux.
I'm running the recent Linux RedHat 6.2beta, but that does
not come with the correct libstdc++ version for DX.

After removing the egcs-c++ packaged (which blocked the
upgrade of listdc++), I could install libstdc++ 2.95.2-3.
DX ran smoothly.

BUT: now a lot of other software doesn't run any more and it
complains about absent libstdc++ libraries:
 error in loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2:
 cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have bad memories of once having messed up a linux machine
with new libraries, keeping the old ones and making manual
links, resulting in the necessity of reinstalling linux.

Anyway, what I want to point out here is that the current
DX-rpm's are not compatible with the most recent RedHat
distro 6.2. Unless the end-user is an excellent library
expert, the executables of 4.0.10 will not run.
However, the old 4.0.9 rpm's are still fine with RedHat 6.2.

This should not be read as a complaint to the people
(Suhaib Siddiqi in particular) who have done already so
much good volenteer work.

Rob.
