No, I did not man trying another X server would fix your problem.
I mean if you were using one of those "EXPERIMENTAL version of DX, like
DX 4.0.9 ) where cygwin compiled binaries were linked to Exceed
would not work.  i had seen this problem with those binaries that
was due to Exceed libs for Cygwin reading path by appending
Win32 like path, for example c:\xxx\xxx to UNIX like path
that is /xx/xx/xx and net result was /opendx/bin/dx\c:\opendx\bin\dx
Therefore Dx excutables never find the script dx etc.

This was a crap from Hummingbird programmers.
