No. With these variables set, clicking "Samples..." in the
Startup Window, will still come up with the files of my
home dir.

What I suggest is, when opening "Samples..." in the
startup window, to show the samples' directory (not my
home directory). I don't think there's variable yet that
controls this, is there?
