1) Startup "dx" (without any aditional parameters)
2) Choose "Samples..."
3) This drops you in the $HOME/ directory
   in the File Selector Window.

Where ever you go in the File Selector Window, will
be remembered for the next time you'll open a sample.
So if you will go to the samples dir, the next time
(WITHIN THE SAME DX SESSION), you will get the samples
files immediately. Indeed that's true, however, the
first time (after startup) it will always default
point to your home directory, which I really believe
is a strange default.

We have system vars, such as DXMACROS and DXDATA, that
help finding certain files. A DXSAMPLES would be nice
to point to the samples directory (in my case
/usr/local/dx/samples ).

I've looked at src/uipp/startup/StartupCommand.C and
src/uipp/startup/StartupWindow.C, but couldn't really
figure out how it works.

All this is not critical, I just wanted to mention a
useful suggestion.

Rob.
