Hi, I am trying to get a proper openDX installation on sgi (IRIX6.5). Both with the binary distribution, and the source dist, I end up with the same problem (SUN and DEC: almost no problems at all): Wen starting a dx-application eg. dx -image, the dxexec wont start messaging something like: "connection to server failed; cannot attach shared memory segment/failed on 2 of 2 needed segments.../cannot initilaize DX library"
I tried to have the envvar DXSHMEM set to 0,-1 and unset. 0 and unset gives the above result, -1 ands it complains about it must be on (ie. not -1). However starting dx by "dx" without args (ie. dxworker I think), works fine, and I can run whatever (I think) from there on. Neverthe less the above problems indicate something to be wrong in the setup. Any clue as to envvars to change or set? /Niklas
