Try upgrading your Cygwin to the latest release of Cygwin. > If I run 'dx' at the bash prompt I get the welcome splash screen > and the menu, but choosing "Edit Visual Programs..." gives the > same sort of error in the bash window while popping an error window > saying "Unable to connect to dxexec". > > Searching the archives, I've found four other posts mentioning > this error, but, alas, I could find none with a resolution. OpenMOTIF is not available for Cygwin and compilation of it using Cygwin without paying a license fee will a violation of Open Group License. I used a licensed version of source code. You can use Lesstif. OpenDX should compile pretty much out of the box. You will need to compile NetCDF, CDF, HDF and ImageMagick too, with Cygwin.
