About David Thompson's remark:
What are you using for a parser/lexer? This sounds like it may be a
problem with one of those. Have you tried compiling and installing
with flex and bison?
BTW I'm using Compaq/DEC Tru64 flex version 2.3 and GNU Bison version
1.25.

I copied the yyuif.c/.h and _compparse.c/.h from my Linux version (since
they differ slightly) but made no difference.
