Are you changing the direction of the light? We use lights all the
time. Is this with hardware or software rendering?

Do lights work? I have a simple drawing produced by 3 instances of
Slab that is only lit from one side; the other side is always black.
Adding Light, AmbientLight, and using Options to set the ambient and
diffuse light levels makes virtually no difference. Adding
FaceNormals makes no difference. I am using Version 4.1.3 with
Redhat Linux.
