Kent Eschenberg:
|Using the default lights, the output from Slab is lit from the wrong side.
|Adding 4 directional lights pointing in +/- X and +/- Z helps. Putting in
|an ambient light, at any brightness, seems to make no difference.
|
|I use only hardware rendering on a Dell Pentium 4 with an Nvidia card.
|
|I suspect the Slab module generates polygons poorly. As a test, I ran its
|output through Isolate and everything began to look right. Isolate must
|generate polygons on its own and gets it right.
You can use software rendering, or flip your lights around, or upgrade to
4.2.0 and use Options() to attach this new attribute:
attribute "light model" string ["one side"|"two side"]
to your field.
I believe software rendering implicitly does two-sided lighting, but
hardware rendering doesn't (so the winding order becomes important if you
don't have normals).
