We have hundreds of customers that run it everyday on Windows with no
problems from our MSVC/installer, but not from cygwin. I have built
it in cygwin to make sure that it still works and it does. The
problem is, it takes so long to build most people will not attempt
it. If you think you need it for cygwin, and would want some
assistance building it, we can offer tech support to help out. If
you'd rather have a cygwin tar package, let us know how much you're
willing to spend, and I'd package it up for you at the right price.

Dear All,
after many of these messages about OpenDx on a Windows system (I
have posted one too, a couple of months ago), one question arises:
is there someone on the earth who really succeded in installing
OpenDx on some flavour of Windows & Cygwin and really uses it
routinely for everyday visualization tasks? If this person exists,
please let us know how you did (with as much detail as you can)! If
no one really knows how to run OpenDx on Windows, please let us
know, so we stop loosing our time!
