Never mind,
I figured this out by playing with the overlap parameter. I did not
understand after reading the documentation how overlap worked, but by
playing with the module I found that by setting overlap to 0.5 and not
the default value of .35, I was able to get the desired behavior of
having the left eye and right eyes side-by-side with correct eye
separation. Before the change to overlap, zooming affected eye separation.

I am trying to get side-by-side stereo working with OpenDX-4.3. Using
the TestStereo, Stereostate, and StereoMacro nets which come with the
OpenDX-4.3 distribution I have so far only been able to get cross-eyed
sise-by-side working.
I need to get non-cross-eyed Left eye / right eye side by side stereo
working.
Is there a simple way (some stereo net option) to get this working?
Thanks
