[Openexr-devel] tips for maximizing write speed?

While comparing my EXR writer built against OpenEXR 1.4 vs. 1.7, the 
older one runs about 4x faster.

I'm not doing anything fancy - just setting 4 full-size image planes and 
then calling writePixels() on the full height.

I am using ZIP compression by default.

Is there anything I can do to speed up writes?
