I too use vsftpd, but I don't think it is flexible enough for Openfiler's versatility. Thinking long-term here, new features and all, my choice would rest on ProFTPd.

Yeah, right now it's a toss up between lib_modftp and proftpd. Leaning toward proftpd cos it has all the functionality we need (full user/group/network ACLs)

Hi

Yes, I'd like to see something more substantial than the current
offering and my vote would go for vsftpd. I don't know how easy vsftpd
would be to manage in the openfiler set-up but I currently use webmin
for management on my other servers servers.

Hi everybody,

Mod_ftp is not stable and the problem, in my oppinion, will not be
solved in next months. This bug was reported in version 1.1 or 1.1.1
one
year ago.

I think there are 2 solutions:
1.- Disable FTP access untill the mod_ftp bug was solved ==> Less
features, sales, $$.
2.- Use another FTP server (ProFTPd,wuFTP,...) ==> development , time,
$$.

What do you think?
