My personal anecdotal evidence suggests ProFTPd is quite stable, having only
1 service disruption in the 5 years of running a pair of quite busy media
hosting servers, and that was when ssl_auth and proftpd stopped talking to
each other... restarting ssl_auth resolved the issue. Featureset,
robustness, and being rigorrously maintained would lead me toward ProFTPd as
well.

Yeah, right now it's a toss up between lib_modftp and proftpd. Leaning
toward proftpd cos it has all the functionality we need (full
user/group/network ACLs)
