I just merged the revert patch https://git.opendaylight.org/gerrit/#/c/71120/. Any patches in other projects that were already merged will have to be reverted as well.
I don't think we don't need a weather item anymore or anything else on this matter - from what I understand from Robert he won't be driving this forward anymore - so unless someone else takes it up (won't be me :))...
