In case anyone is interested, when I attempted to upgrade my 2 laptops from Red Hat 7.2 and 8.0 respectively, the graphical installer only offered to install; it didn't offer the upgrade option. Be careful about this.
I asked Michael, who said the magic is the command upgradeany to be given at the boot prompt (when the install CD boots)
Or "linux upgrade" works too.
This is also true on the new enterprise version of red hat......
bte Dan, did you get any power managment features when you upgraded?
