I think the word "community" has no functonal meaning with these
projects. The projects are clearly distinct with separate
organizations and goals.
Not to mention OpenEMR runs equally well on Linux and MS Windows. I
haven't tried but I suspect this is true of many Apache - MySQL /
PostgreSQL - P(PHP, PERL, Python) projects.
The Apache, MySQL, PostgreSQL, PHP, PERL and Python are all fairly
platform independent. It just happens that many of the open source
developers are working on Linux.

The BSDs take a bit more work but problems are usually related to not
have a full complement of underlying libraries. SB
