How important are Spectre, Meltdown, etc for a system behind a firewall which does not allow inbound traffic and does not run programs downloaded from the internet?
My view for many years is that the browsers are so bad that all that is left is the barn door. All the other walls are long gone. The stuff I really care about is entirely unconnected and all I move back and forth is plain ASCII.
